Goddamn names
so despite my better judgment I joined a couple of public games, and double ni##er was in both. Can't play with an offensive name like that. So I forfeit. It was likely that in both at least one player would deadbeat, so why did I bother. On another note oVo has the best avatar ever, though I might be a perv.

No clear mandate
Just IMO, but there's no clear mandate for mods to delete people based on their names. For example, the person that joined up just before DN was called Buzzkiker. That's unlikely to be coincidental (incidentally, was BK present in those games with DN?)
What about Hitler-based names? Most would accept that as pretty clear, but how about Stalin? Not a nice guy, but AFAIK BigBallinStahl is. Funnily enough, he thought that there was a block on names including "Stalin", but it turns out that he seems to have set up a BigBallinStalin a/c and then forgotten about it :) .

Gonna be hard to draw a line. Is the term Gay offensive? What about: "BigGayAl" a fictional TV character? What about "AlGoreIsGay."
Yes, we all know the "no no" names, but where do we draw the line, ESPECIALLY in an interracial and international website where some words are not offensive to some cultures. Faggot, A$$hole, F**ker, C*nt, Bit*h, Nig**r, and other cuss words are all no nos right? How about real people's names in history that were offensive? Then it comes down to context and how those names are being used in your user name? Then it becomes way to confusing based on cultures and native languages...
The name "AllHailHitler" is offensive, what about "HitlerSucks" or "IHateHitler"? I believe the last two areacceptable in CONTEXT, but should the word hitler be banned outright?
Again, it all goes back to the programming of this site, those names should never be allowed to be created, yet another thing a more modern system would have in place.
i dont mind
people venting and using occsional cuss words but personal insults,threats,racial and predjudicial slurrs are unacceptable behavior.

Much like "no shoes no service", this site can determine what is and isn't acceptible. As j35t3r points out the site could be programmed to negate inappropriate monikers at registration, but the abuse/cheat forum should work equally well to eliminate players who choose to use intentionally offensive or controversial names. Let common sense prevail.

The site could/should be programmed to not allow certain words, but it would only be somewhat effective. Perhaps this player would have been blocked trying to use nigger, but would have gotten through with n1gg3r or niggger or some other variant that everyone will know what they mean. Most people are pretty adept at beating those types of blocks of they really want to.
