as you can protect yourself from liar? players

I'm not so sure that the liar players are completely in wrong, personally i never break a truce without 1 turn in advance, but if you want to play a perfect diplomatic game you can choose teamgame.

I've lost a lot of game for that liar players, So this is my suggestion and what i usualy do.. if you don't know the player..choose to set an end date 3- 5-10 turns eventually rejoinable so you can "check" the player.. The end date force you to set a different strategy every few turns.. also this makes the game more balanced ( never see two biggest eternal allied wipe out a little tiny player??)

SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM
If you wish for peace, prepare for war!

Those and people who double truce to the end and don't know what to do when it is just them and the two people they've truced with.... *wink*

I agree with both of you guys though. Killitz is dead on. And Bassiano, you're right, Team Games are the ONLY way to make sure your truces are perfect...

One problem with team games though. In a team game you're STUCK with your team. In a multi-player (FFA we'll call it) game you can pick and choose your allies based on the current game state.

Every other day I find a Trustworthy and NOT trustworthy person on this website. Its just how it goes. I take it with a grain of salt and move on. Sure it pisses me off, enjoying having one or more of my battle-fronts eliminated by a truce, only to find 10 turns later my forgotten-about front just got backdoor'd. However, I'd much rather be in a free for all game where I can constantly monitor the over-all game to pick and choose my alliances based on the game-state and not just be stuck with the same people the whole game.

Team games have nothing at all to do with truces.  Team games have nothing at all to do with diplomacy.  They cannot be compared to truces in any way, shape or form.

Is that typed with a sarcastic font?
