Don't play your turns. After 3 inactive turns (where you don't play) it will boot you from that game.
If you want a less drastic way, you can go into your options and set yourself to AUTO-PLAY. You can setup Auto-Play to be aggressive, defensive, do nothing, or be hell bent on attacking a certain person ;p
While Deadbeating or Auto-Playing (to a lesser extent) is looked down upon by the BF community, it is sometimes the only viable option.
The last option is a bit more tricky. You can PM someone you trust your user name and password to play your games while you are away/vacation/gone.
