I have encountered the unkillable SAM on more than one occassion. It's obvious that some defenders are just tougher than others or maybe they just eat a lot of Wheaties... but I suspect performance enhancing substances.
I thought I was doomed in a game when my fleet of 8 met Soldjah's fleet of 8 and the losses were 2 and 7. Luckily Rio777 intervened to take Soldjah's capital and granted me a repreive.
I just had a little karmic return against the same player in a different game as similar forces met on one of his territories and all his guys crashed & burned.

I just had a single troop block six advancing tanks in their own territory... and it's still there.

Two forces of equal strength meet at sea, they sustain No Casualties while my entire fleet is sunk.
