So I'm Germany. I start off with the strategy of taking out UK since they are not moving to block this effectively and I hit the capital with bombers fighters and 2T turn 1, the same and an additional 2T turn 2, US deadbeats on turn three and UK gets all US territories. I load 2I into UK capital and continue the attack on turn three and on turn 4 all US and UK terrirtories are grayed out! WOOHOO! SWEET JUSTICE!

I had a similar game once.  I took over russia, then the next turn, instead of being eliminated, The u.k. and it's territories turned brown (i guess he deadbeated).  then the turn after that, the russian/Uk allaince was eliminated.  too little to late lo

Except when losing the UK doesn't spell instant victory.  Hex lost the UK in 2001 to some above average German rolling but the Allies managed to sink all the German fleet and kick Japan off the mainland.  As the US I've just taken Germany - I have yet to liberate Britain.

Hex stuck it out with "units persist" and played a crucial roll with his diminishing strength all the way to victory.

It is the strangest A&A I've ever played.
