AUTO-PLAY question

Hi. Have auto-play features been changed somewhat? lately I'm noticing that an inactive player in my current game never seems to be waitintg to submit a turn.

it used to be that players on auto-play would be labeled as not having done their turn; then, when all other players did their turn, the turn would end and the new turn would begin. has this been changed at all? admins can you please help? thanks.

When someone sets themselves to one of the auto-play modes, the computer inputs their turn immediately and you see the "turn taken" dot next to their name right away.

When someone deadbeats (just never shows up), the computer doesn't label them as taking their turn, but once all active players submit the game then proceeds.

The difference is that deadbeaters have not set themselves to autoplay.  The computer just builds out at their capital.  Someone who actually sets themselves to one of the auto-play modes the computer will be moving and doing strategies based on the setting they chose, all be it usually poor or silly ones.

The auto-play is not a good game sitter... if you choose to use it for the weekend etc. I went out of town for two days and decided to try auto-play instead of finding a game sitter. Even though my forces were in decent position on all the maps I was eliminated from half of my active games when I returned.

I was in a hex game with an auto-player once, he had 2 transports at his capital when he set himself to autoplay, and for 3 turns in a row the computer loaded up 2I on the transports, moved 1 space away from the island, moved back, and unloaded them.  I'm not kidding.  It left me wondering if there was an auto-play setting called "basic training drills"  lol
