Happy new year everyone!
Before the end of the 2011, we successfully snuck in a major hardware platform change. So things should be even snappier in 2012.
We have also made some changes to the forum:
All players must now complete a game before they are allowed to post topics or comment in the forum. That includes existing players, so get out there and have a duel.
We have also removed the much loved Captcha requirement in the forum. Hopefully it will not be missed. :-)
It is going to be an interesting year, big plans...
See you on the battlefield,
The BATTLE FORCES Team

Hello Everyone,
We hope the holiday season is going well for you.
Recently, some users have been having difficulty signing in with their external account, such as Google. Unfortunately these temporary outages are due to the external account integration provider and is out of our control. There is however something everyone can do to ensure they have a backup method of logging in to BATTLE FORCES.
1 - Log in as you normally do.
2 – Click on My account from the left menu.
3 – Next, click on Edit at the top.
4 – Now provide an email address and password for your account. These need not be the same as your external account.
5 – At the bottom, Click Submit.
Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to log in using the old login interface (the last of the log in buttons). So if you have trouble logging in with your external account, you will still have another way of getting in. Definitely do not want to miss any turns!
See you on the battlefield,
The BATTLE FORCES Team

Hello Facebook Users,
Commencing immediately we will be doing some backend work on our Facebook integration. This is due to some mandatory changes dictated by Facebook.
As a safety backup, if you have not done so already, please specify an email address and password for your BATTLE FORCES account. To do this, login as usual with you Facebook account and then specify an email address and password for your BATTLE FORCES account (this can be found under the Edit command in the My Account menu item). These need not be the same as your Facebook account. Once you have these set, it will allow you to login via the Login with Old Account interface.
We are hoping that there will not be any disruptions to the Facebook interface, but if there are, you will always have another way in. Wouldn’t want to miss any turns...
This only applies to Facebook users, so everyone else can relax and wage war as usual.
Thank you for playing,
The BATTLE FORCES Team

Hello everyone,
As a new school year starts, the battles still rage on. We have made two small changes to the rules.
The price for Destroyers has been reduced from 30 to 25 credits.
Aircraft Carriers can now carry up to four fighters each, up from two previously.
The price change will only take effect on new games, and the display in the client will be a little off to start. The Aircraft Carrier change takes effect immediately for all games.
While we are very satisfied with the rules as they are, we are always open to new changes that may make them even better. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback both for and against the modifications.
We also have some new features in the pipe and will be releasing them when they are ready.
See you on the battlefield,
The BATTLE FORCES Team.

Hello everyone,
We have made some enhancements to the player profile pages. You will now see their recent forum topics, comments and custom maps. You can also now initiate new games using any of their custom maps listed.
We have added a new forum called Maps for players to discuss new and current map designs and to invite others to try out their maps and give feedback.
There is also more in the works...
See you on the battlefield,

Happy Year of the Rabbit everyone,
Try to avoid running over any fluffy animals with your tanks this year.
While many players have enjoyed the random maps, most still wanted more control on the customization. Well now you have it.
Players may now fully customize all aspects of their maps, such as which hexes make up the zones, zone names, toggle between land and water, adjust income and change starting forces. Check out the new My Maps page from the side menu after logging in. Start with a random map and customize away!
We are looking forward to some very interesting worlds being created. As always, please let us know how it works out for you.
A quick thank you to everyone who liked the new BATTLE FORCES facebook page.
See you on the battlefield,
The BATTLE FORCES Team.

Happy new year everyone!
Glad to have you with us. 2010 was great, and we have some cool things coming up in 2011. Its going to be good.

Season’s Greetings Everyone,
Multiplayer random maps are now available. Premium and Extreme players may create random maps and use them for both Solo and Multiplayer play. Anyone may then join the multiplayer game. Please note, before a random map may be used for multiplayer play, it must first be played at least once in solo mode.
There is much more to come, next step will be manual configuration of custom maps.
Great to see some creative scenario rules that players are putting together. The tournaments have also been fantastic.
See you on the battlefield,
The BATTLE FORCES Team

Hello All,
It is here! Random maps have arrived at BATTLE FORCES. They will be released in stages, starting with the core and moving up from there.
To put some miles on the new system, stage one will allow Premium and Extreme members to create random maps that they can play solo games with.
To give it a try, click on the ‘My Maps’ menu item and create your very first custom random map. You will then see this custom map choice in the solo game creation selector. Let us know how you liked it and what changes would make it even better.
This is just the beginning and we will have multiple releases of additional features to follow. Now that the new core is in place, there will be lots of opportunity for diverse additions. Get ready for some fun.

Hello All,
Deadbeats are players who join a game but do not finish. They are not a big deal for single player games, but for team games this can really affect the game balance.
We have now implemented a new and more advanced deadbeat player solution.
Deadbeaters will now no longer merge with the weakest teammate. Instead, the teammates will have the option to complete substitute turns for the deadbeat player. Teammates should take care to complete the deadbeat player's turn before their own, as the game will still not wait for the deadbeaters.
A few extra details:
- Teammates will not be able to read the deadbeater's game mail.
- Teammates will not be able to chat on behalf of the deadbeater.
These two items are to prevent character assassination.
We hope this will help keep the team games fair and the fun rolling.
See you on the battlefield,
The BATTLE FORCES Team
